I really wanted to share with my hosts and students the feeling of Louisiana, MY Louisiana, so when I started looking for small gifts as "Thank Yous" to the many people that will help me grow during this experience, I was shocked to find out just how under-represented Northeast Louisiana is. I could find TONS of stuff for everywhere below I-10 but struggled to find things from home.
In the end, I decided that postcards and small posters that represented my state were better than calendars or the "typical" Louisiana trinkets. Postcards are collectible, small and easy to carry, and can be used to represent a multitude of perspectives. Best of all, I can create what I need/want to represent MY Louisiana! These are the things I either ordered or created. Feel free to take my ideas (and files) and edit them for your use.
